On 23 November 1933, Krzysztof Penderecki was born. A concert celebrating the 85th birthday of the Master opened the 1st International Music Festival of Central-Eastern Europe, at the same time ending the festival organized by the Ludwig van Beethoven Association in honour of the composer’s anniversary. The programme of the event featured works by Krzysztof Penderecki performed by world-class artists close to him.
